Education & Development
- Deliver Assemblies and talks in schools to raise awareness
- Keep up links with local schools/universities and education authorites
- Deliver Cultural Diversity Awareness Training (CDAT) to Public, Private and Voluntary sectors
- Represent IR in Community Education & Development seminars/exhibitions
- Participate in Universities freshers week
This year Islamic Relief (Scotland) has extended its seasonal greetings to children in Orphanages in Pakistan. Ten schools from the Glasgow area have been involved in a special 'Eid Card Competition' Project titled 'e-Link'. Scottish children have been drawing and painting cards to send abroad with messages of love for Eid. The winning cards from each ( P3, P4, P5, P6 and P7) year have been printed and being sold during Ramadhan with all proceeds going to charity. This project has been a huge success with many more schools eager to take part in encouraging local children to interact with children of a similar age in other countries. The cards that did not win are sent to the orphanages abroad and the orphans there will in return design cards for the children here.
