Islamic Relief Volunteers

Why Volunteer

There is no better way to gain experience and skills than to do hands-on work as a volunteer for an aid agency of international standing such as IR. As well as the satisfaction of knowing you are helping people who are most in need throughout the world, the practical experience gained will form the basis of a good grounding in many careers from management to marketing and the charity is happy to provide references for future employers of your achievements at IR.

For those re-entering the work force, volunteer work at an Islamic Relief centre provides direct experience in the current teaching methods for pre-schoolers, and a volunteer position may turn into a paid position.

We are always looking for people to help with our work. It doesn't matter what skills you have, everybody has something they can give.

Volunteering gives you a chance to make a difference to others and to your community. Also, many volunteers find that experience helps increase their confidence, skills base and boosts their education and employment prospects.

There is also a volunteer management level for those appointed as heads of volunteer teams that will help you experience what’s it’s like to oversee and co-ordinate people and projects, utilise resources and achieve set goals
